Mark Your Calendars

Just figured I'd post some upcoming show dates for the Bamn Crew. Things are moving at a snail's pace for Jay, Ron, and myself, but the goal is to have the elusive issue 3 up and ready to purchase by SPX (September 10th and 11th).
And, as always, you can view our ever changing (okay, "ever changing" may be too specific) convention schedule by checking out the sidebar at http://www.bamncan.com/ and http://www.typographicera.com/.

  • SPX (September 10th & September 11th 2010) Bamn will be at the DC Conspiracy section at the Small Press Expo in 2010. SPX 2010 will be held the weekend of September 10 and 11th, 2010 at the Marriott Bethesda North Hotel & Conference Center in Bethesda, MD, just one mile outside the nation’s capital, Washington DC. In its fifteenth year SPX now serves as the preeminent showcase for the exhibition of independent comic books and the discovery of new creative talent.: http://www.spxpo.com/
  • CCFest (October 23rd 2010) The DC Counter Culture Fest is an annual convention that celebrates (and sells) everything fringe, offbeat, and geeky --- It's like a flea market/carnival rolled into one. The fifth annual con will be held at RFD (Nice!) in Chinatown in Washington, DC. Expect to see indy comics, various fashions, jewelry, doo-dads, boobles, booze, crafts, live entertainment and The Bamn Crew there on October 23rd 2010.: http://www.dcconspiracy.com/
  • COMIC BOOK BOOM! (July 12th & August 27th 2010) The D.C. Conspiracy's high-flyin' summer celebration of local comics, presented at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library. The event features an exhibit of original comic art and comic book reading room, showcasing the talents of local D.C. cartoonists, as well as, a pair of workshops (July 31 & August 21, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm) to teach you how to make your own comics, led by conspirators Matt Dembicki and Evan Keeling: http://www.dclibrary.org/node/8894

Bamn meets MLK

No, this is not some bizarre crossover I cooked up (although, now that I think about it, a civil rights wrestling comic does sound interesting), this is a real a thing...
The DC Conspiracy and the Martin Luther King library have teamed up to do an art show and a few workshops that are dedicated to the comic's medium. Bamn will be one of the titles on display, but so will a murder of DC Conspiracy titles.
The summer event (called "Comic Book Boom") is ongoing until August 27th and is located in the easily accessible downtown area of Washington, DC (plus it's free).

Okay, okay, okay. Seriously, all this media attention is going straight to my head (I might have to buy some new hats).
